Homaira Jashim

Co-Founder, Collective Studio — Narayanganj, Bangladesh

Homaira co-founded Collective Studio and leads how the studio works with brands large and small. She grew up around the factory floor in Narayanganj and now runs the side of the business that turns a brand's sketch into shipped product — which means she works daily across garment construction and fabric selection, GOTS certification and social compliance, export documentation, incoterms and DDP landed costs, and the tariff and customs rules that decide what a brand actually pays at the border. She writes about manufacturing, sourcing, sustainability, trade and compliance, and building a clothing brand the honest way.

What Homaira can speak to first-hand

  • Cut-and-sew knitwear construction — fabric weight, seam type and fit, on the floor she grew up on
  • GOTS certification in practice, including the difference between a Scope Certificate and a Transaction Certificate (ours is RSC 9687)
  • Export documentation, incoterms, and why an FOB quote and a DDP quote are not comparable numbers
  • Duty and tariff rules that decide what a brand actually pays at the border, market by market
