Best Hoodie Manufacturers for Small Brands

Disclosure first: Collective Studio wrote this page, and we are one of the seven hoodie manufacturers on it. We are a family-run knitwear factory in Narayanganj, Bangladesh, so we have an interest in you choosing us. The page is built to be checked rather than to persuade: every figure for another company is what that company publishes on its own website, read on 29 October 2026, and we say where a site contradicts itself or leaves something out.

Most lists of hoodie manufacturers mix three different businesses: companies that print on stock blanks, companies that customise their own blanks, and factories that cut and sew a hoodie to your specification. All three appear below, and the table says which is which, because a low minimum on a blank and a low minimum on a hoodie made to your pattern are different offers.

The comparison table

Sort by any column. Stated minimum is each company's own published figure. Read the unit: a minimum per design lets you split it across colours and sizes, while a minimum per style and colour applies to every colour you order.

What the minimum column does not tell you

  • Blank customisation is not cut and sew. A minimum of 50 on blanks means the fabric, weight, fit and hood are already decided; you add the decoration and labels. It is often the right first step, but the hoodie is not yours to change.
  • Per design is not per colour. 50 per design in three colours can be 50 hoodies. 65 per style and colour in three colours is 195.
  • A low minimum is paid for in the unit price. Pattern making, grading, sampling and line set-up cost about the same at 50 pieces as at 500, and a short run carries all of it.

United States

The Evans Group (TEG) — Los Angeles. TEG states minimums that “start at 10-50 pieces per style”, varying by garment type, the lowest in this table for cut-and-sew work. Hoodies are not listed among its clothing categories, but client reviews on the same page describe TEG as a hoodie manufacturer. Lead times and certifications are not stated. Right for: a US brand that needs a very small domestic run and can pay Los Angeles rates for it.

Portugal

White Cotton — Barcelos. Hoodies, sweatshirts, zip-ups and joggers start at 75 units per colourway when you order two or more colourways, or 100 in one colourway, and the site lists eight hoodie styles. Its lead times are stated two ways: sampling of 1–2 weeks or 4–8 weeks, and production of 4–6 weeks or 6–12 weeks from the deposit, so ask which applies to your order. It states that every fabric is OEKO-TEX certified, with GOTS organic cotton available. Right for: a European brand launching hoodies in several colours that wants a short transit into the EU.

Create Fashion Brand (CFB) — production at Beiriz, Póvoa de Varzim. CFB runs three routes: blank hoodies with no minimum, customised blanks from 50 per model and colour, and development from scratch from 150 per model and colour. Its blank hoodies come at 380, 480, 650 and 800–1,200 GSM, the heaviest range in this table. It names GOTS 6.0, OEKO-TEX 100, OCS 3.0 and ISO 45001 without publishing numbers. Right for: a brand that wants to start on heavyweight blanks and move to its own pattern later without changing supplier.

Turkey

Garment Istanbul — Istanbul. Sixty-five pieces per style and colour across hoodies, sweatshirts, sweatpants, shorts and polos. It describes itself as a single accountable production partner and says it coordinates supplier options for fabric; it does not say whether it owns the sewing floor, which is worth asking. Lead times and certifications are not stated. Right for: a European brand that wants one contact managing a Turkish supply chain.

China

ZEKA Apparel — Humen Town, Dongguan. Fifty pieces per design with sizes and colours mixable, the most flexible minimum in this table. It states a 7-day sample turnaround and delivery within 30 days of sample approval, though another section of the same page says 7–20 days. Hoodies sit alongside sweatshirts, sweatpants and tracksuits. No certifications are stated. Right for: a brand testing several hoodie designs at once in small numbers.

HuiLin Fashion — Panyu District, Guangzhou. Fifty to 100 pieces per style and colour across up to seven sizes, with 21 working days for a general order once fabric and trims are ready. It claims ISO 9001 and GRS certification without numbers, and gives two different figures for its workshop area. Right for: an oversized-streetwear brand that wants hoodies and tees from one supplier at speed.

Bangladesh

Collective Studio — Narayanganj. That is us. Our minimum is 150 hoodies per style and colour, higher than most of this table, because knit fabric is dyed in lots of hundreds of kilos and 150 pieces is about where fabric stops being sampling and becomes production. We cut and sew on our own floor, in fleece or French terry at the weight you specify, in our GOTS-certified facility (certificate RSC 9687, the only certificate number in this table that its holder publishes). Sampling takes about 10 days; production takes 40–50 days after sample approval, plus freight, and we quote DDP. Right for: a brand that expects to reorder and grow on the same pattern. Wrong for: fewer than 150 hoodies, or stock needed in Europe or the US within weeks.

What makes a good hoodie, whoever makes it

Compare every manufacturer on the same points. These are where hoodies fail, and where a quote that looks cheap has usually saved its money.

  • Fabric and weight. French terry has loops inside; fleece has those loops brushed into pile, which is warmer. Around 280–320 GSM is a light hoodie, 330–400 GSM mid-weight, and above 400 GSM heavyweight. Ask for the weight after washing as well as before.
  • Shrinkage. Ask whether the fabric is compacted or pre-shrunk and what it shrinks in a wash test. A hoodie that loses 5 cm of length after one wash comes back as a return.
  • The hood. Two-panel or three-panel, single layer or lined, and whether the lining is jersey or the body fabric. A lined three-panel hood holds its shape; a thin single layer collapses.
  • Rib at the cuffs and hem. Rib with a little elastane recovers; rib without it bags after a few wears.
  • Seams and drawcord. Overlocked and coverstitched seams, metal or embroidered eyelets, and a bar-tacked pouch pocket. Young children's hoodies must not have a hood drawcord in the US, EU or UK, and older children's sizes have length limits (see our children's safety rules guide).

What does a hoodie cost to make?

None of these companies publishes a price list, and neither do we. The public benchmark is official import data. In 2025 the average cotton sweatshirt imported into the United States had a customs value of US$5.55 from Bangladesh, US$5.29 from China and US$7.66 from Vietnam, before freight and duty. Those are averages across millions of pieces; a short run in heavyweight or organic fleece costs more per piece. The method and the EU and UK figures are in our guide to what clothing from Bangladesh costs on official import data.

How to check any of these claims

Everything above is a company's own published statement. To make it firmer, check any certificate number in the issuer's own database, ask whose floor will sew your hoodies and see it on a live video call you schedule, and order a paid sample before bulk. Our comparison of low MOQ clothing manufacturers sets out each check in detail and covers five more companies that make other garments.

How we chose the seven

We started from the hoodie makers in our low-MOQ comparison and re-read each company's own website on 29 October 2026. Two companies from that comparison are not here because their pages did not load when we checked; we will add them back when we can read their current figures. We have no commercial relationship with any other company listed, nobody paid to be included, and there are no affiliate links. If you are one of these manufacturers and we have misread your figures, tell us and we will correct them.

Frequently asked questions

Which hoodie manufacturer has the lowest minimum order?

Of the seven compared here, The Evans Group in Los Angeles states the lowest cut-and-sew minimum, from 10 to 50 pieces per style depending on the garment. ZEKA Apparel in China states 50 per design with colours and sizes mixable, and Create Fashion Brand in Portugal sells blank hoodies with no minimum. Our own minimum is 150 per style and colour.

What GSM is a good hoodie?

Around 280 to 320 GSM is a light hoodie, 330 to 400 GSM mid-weight, and above 400 GSM heavyweight. Heavy oversized streetwear hoodies are often 450 GSM or more. Ask for the weight after washing as well as before, and whether the fabric is compacted or pre-shrunk.

Is it cheaper to make hoodies in China or Bangladesh?

On official US import data for 2025, the average cotton sweatshirt had a customs value of 5.55 US dollars from Bangladesh, 5.29 from China and 7.66 from Vietnam, before freight and duty. The two are close; the bigger differences between factories are the minimum, the lead time and the fabric weight you choose.

Should I customise blank hoodies or have them made?

Customising blanks is faster and has lower minimums, but the fabric, weight, fit and hood are already decided and a competitor can buy the same hoodie. Having hoodies cut and sewn to your specification takes longer and costs more at first, and the hoodie is yours. Many brands start on blanks and move their best seller to cut and sew.

Can I get organic cotton hoodies at a low minimum?

Yes. We make organic cotton hoodies in our GOTS-certified facility, certificate RSC 9687, from 150 pieces per style and colour. White Cotton and Create Fashion Brand in Portugal also state GOTS organic options. Ask any supplier for the certificate number and check it in the GOTS public database.
